Huddersfield Rams Aussie Rules Football Club is an amateur sports club which formed in November 2008,we are based at Huddersfield R.U.F.C at Lockwood Park in Lockwood Huddersfield.
The Huddersfield Rams currently has one senior team (17 yrs and above) competing in the Australian Rules central division. The central division comprises of teams from Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield, Manchester, Birmingham, Bradford and York in a season running from May to August.
In our first season, Huddersfield Rams won the division, capping off an excellent first year for the club. This fantastic achievement really put Huddersfield Rams on the Aussie Rules map and led to several of our squad members being selected to play for the Central Warriors regional side competing in the Brit Cup national tournament.
International selection was also achieved by the Huddersfield Rams with two players (Karl Haigh and Danny Armitage) and the coach (Neil Morrison) being called up for the England Dragonslayers Aussie Rules team to compete for the 2009 European Cup (EU Cup) in Croatia. In 2009 the Dragonslayers made headlines around the world by winning the EU Cup for the second year in a row.
